Meet Stefano Barberi

I met Stefano for the first time and rode with him during the Haute Route Malibu Invitational in March. He even coached me through the time trial up Piuma Road and I've since continued to use his advice while riding. Stefano is an unassuming, soft-spoken guy, with a wealth of experience from years as a professional cyclist. He’s the sort of person you can learn a lot from given the chance, so I jumped at the opportunity to ask him some questions.

Desert Season!

Late fall and early spring in Colorado are considered Desert Season since it's usually prime time to grab your mountain bike and head to Grand Junction, Moab, or Sedona. I took the cue and made a beeline to Arizona last week where I've been enjoying blue skies, short-sleeve temperatures, and some of the best mountain bike trails you can find.

When Everything Changed: How I Realized the Importance of Nutrition

A little more than 8 years ago, I found myself absolutely exhausted in my daily life. I always felt like I was in need of a nap, regardless of whether or not it was a training day. At the time, I was in the midst of a lengthy career in the biotech industry as a desk-bound researcher who was also a road warrior with a full weekly travel schedule. Between my flights to and from Denver, Raleigh, and other cities across North America, I was also trying to maintain a robust training schedule that sometimes even included renting a bike for a local ride in whatever city I was visiting for work.
