This event has serious heart!
The best races are ones that reflect the heart, soul and dedication of the people organizing it. That’s a big reason we signed on as a race sponsor for the Beach Blast Triathlon and Duathlon in Florida, which is held each April and September.
Here are a few words from the race director, Olga Cemore. You can just feel the passion!
We are triathletes, volunteers, runners, couch potatoes, and other kinds of people. We love our bikes as much as you do and swimming challenges as much as it challenges you (probably a lot more). We love the sport.
Many moons ago the perfect Mexico Beach beauty gave us the crazy idea of having our very own race. So when we have nothing to do (weekend nights and holidays) we work on Beach Blast Triathlon & Duathlon.
When we watch you enter the Gulf of Mexico, our hearts stop, our eyes water up, and we stop breathing for a just a little while every time. Because we love what we do and we put our hearts into it.
The Beach Blast features both a Triathlon and a Duathlon. Both are offered at sprint and Olympic lengths, meaning four races are going on at once.
And fun fact ... even though the event is located in the Eastern Time Zone, the race runs on Central time. That’s because it’s located only a mile for the time zone line and using Central time keeps the organizers and volunteers sane.
