Barr Trail Mountain Race 2016
Celebrating its 15th year, hundreds of runners will gather this weekend for the Barr Trail Mountain Race.
The 12.6-mile course begins at the Cog Railway Station (6,570 feet) in Manitou Springs, Colorado, ascends Pikes Peak’s historic Barr Trail to Barr Camp (10,200 feet) before turning, descending and finishing at the Barr Trailhead.
Here at Enduro Bites, we’re super psyched to sponsor both the event and the guy who puts it on, Peter Maksimow. Peter is an elite trail runner and member of the silver medal-winning US team at the 2015 World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships.
According to his Instagram profile, he’s also a beer connoisseur, tree hugger and perfectionist. His unruly, mountain man-style moustache and beard will help you pick him out of a crowd.
For all you Coloradans, there’s still time to sign up for the Barr Trail Mountain Race. We’ll see you out there! Pikes Peak or bust, baby.
Here's Peter with some of the prizes for the fastest runners
