A mission statement for life, but often a difficult path to navigate. Having recently passed 50 I still feel very much like an apprentice seeking that elusive wisdom to know the difference.Â
Usually when I set my alarm for the crack of dawn it's to catch a flight to a race, but today was different. I had an exciting adventure in the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness ahead of me and the 4:30 AM wake up was made easier knowing this.
I didn’t ride a bike much as a kid because I was plenty happy and busy with my running, singing, hiking and general outdoor fun. I also had a pretty gnarly crash as a kid that kept me away from bikes.
Maybe it's because he lives in Utah and we wouldn't run into him all that often, but Alex always seemed like a mysterious Jedi warrior who'd show up at races, kick everyone's butt in the nicest way possible
